This is a hands-on/application-focused course providing entry-level installers with the background knowledge and skills needed to function safely and effectively on the job and in accordance with the requirements, recommendations, and best practices outlined in the 8th edition of the Information Technology Systems Installation Methods Manual (ITSIMM).

The Installer 1 designation is the start of a rewarding career path full of continuing advancement opportunities. In this course you will learn essential information as an entry-level installer:

• Professionalism at the work site

• Transmission fundamentals

• Safety practices and procedures

  You will also gain an advantage over other installers by getting hands-on practice in:

• Pulling cable

• Performing multiple IDC terminations (66, 110, LSA and BIX)

• Terminating coaxial cable

• Performing basic testing of copper cabling installations

  *The Installer 1 (INST1) exam is not included in the course fee. You must apply for the exam separately.
